A Strong CMO/CIO Partnership Is Key To Organizational Success

Organizations must transform to keep pace with digital change and customer expectations in order to grow. There is controversy over who “owns” transformation in an organization, but ultimately no matter who owns it, the most critical component of success is a strong partnership between the CMO and CIO.

Historically, marketing and IT have been two of the most siloed departments in an organization. But the rise of MarTech is changing the game, and the CIO and CMO roles are finding more areas of overlap.

No one person can fill both roles — the demands are too large. And customers are demanding technology-enabled products and services more than ever. Without a strong partnership and leaders in these roles who complement each other and work well together, organizations will not be able to address customer demand quickly enough to reach their maximum growth potential.
